These granola bars were born from my love for cherries and chocolate. I was inspired by my childhood memory of cherry chocolate ice cream. Now, I have brought these flavors into a healthy, portable snack that' easy to carry and even easier to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Rolled Oats
- 1 cup Almonds
- 1 cup Dried Cherries
- 1/2 cup Dark Chocolate
- 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/4 cup Natural Peanut Butter
- 2 teaspoons Chia Seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the oats and almonds on a baking sheet and toast for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the oats and almonds are toasting, chop the dried cherries and dark chocolate into small pieces.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup and peanut butter. Stir until well combined and heated through.
- Once the oats and almonds are toasted, transfer them to a large bowl. Add the chopped cherries, dark chocolate, and chia seeds. Pour the heated maple syrup and peanut butter mixture over the top. Stir well, ensuring every bit is coated.
- Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Press the mixture firmly into the dish, creating an even layer. Let it cool completely, then cut into bars. Enjoy!
