The recipe was first invented during a culinary exploration of Jamaica. The traditional Jamaican 'Jerk' seasoning inspired the creation of this vegan dish.
During a culinary exploration of Jamaica, I was captivated by the vibrant flavors of their traditional 'Jerk' seasoning. The challenge was to infuse these robust flavors into a vegan dish, and voila, the Jamaican Jerk Cauliflower Steaks were born!
Ingredients
- 2 pieces Cauliflower
- 4 teaspoons Jerk seasoning
- 1 pieces Mango
- 1/2 pieces Red onion
- 1 pieces Lime
- 1/4 cups Cilantro
- 2 teaspoons Olive oil
Instructions
- First, preheat your grill or oven to a high heat setting.
- Take your cauliflowers and cut them into thick steaks. Place the steaks on a baking sheet.
- Brush each cauliflower steak with olive oil, then generously season with the jerk seasoning.
- Grill the cauliflower steaks for about 5 minutes on each side, until they are tender and have a nice char.
- While the cauliflower is grilling, prepare the mango salsa. Dice the mango, red onion, and chop the cilantro.
- In a bowl, combine these ingredients along with the juice of one lime. Stir to mix well.
- Once the cauliflower steaks are done, serve them topped with the fresh mango salsa. Enjoy!
