Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse with Coconut Flakes

Did you know that avocados can be used as a substitute for dairy in baking and dessert recipes? Its creamy texture and mild flavor make it a perfect base for our mousse today.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cups cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cups maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk
  • 1/4 cups coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and almond milk to the food processor.
  3. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the food processor as necessary.
  4. Divide the mousse among 4 serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chilled.
  5. Top each serving with a sprinkle of coconut flakes just before serving.
