The origin of the Portobello Mushroom Burger is not clear. Some say it came from the vegetarian movement in the 70s in the US, while others believe it was a creation of gourmet chefs looking for a flavorful alternative to meat.
I created this recipe on a summer afternoon when some friends decided to have a surprise vegan barbeque party. Since then, it has become a favorite at every gathering, vegan or not. It' a delicious twist on the classic burger that not only vegans will love.
