Crispy Smoked Paprika Chickpeas with Lime

While the exact origin of this dish is tough to pinpoint, chickpeas have been a staple in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines for thousands of years. The fusion of smoked paprika and lime, however, is a more recent culinary innovation.

One day, I found myself craving a unique, tangy, and crunchy snack. I had a bunch of chickpeas and some smoked paprika in the pantry. With a creative spark, I came up with this recipe. It was an instant hit among my friends!

Ingredients

  • 400 grams chickpeas
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Rinse the chickpeas thoroughly and pat them dry.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chickpeas, smoked paprika, olive oil, and salt.
  4. Spread the chickpeas on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the chickpeas are crispy.
  6. Once out of the oven, drizzle them with lime juice and toss well.
  7. Allow them to cool before serving. Enjoy the zesty crunch!
